Business Development Manager, EMEA & Asia
Job Role: Business Development Manager, EMEA & Asia
Length of Service: Since July 2012
Other employment: I joined film scanner manufacturer Rank Cintel as an Electronic Engineering Apprentice in September 1984 and stayed there for almost 28 years! After completing my apprenticeship (which didn’t take 28 years), I worked as a Test Engineer and a Global Support Engineer before joining Sales. I left the Sales Team in 2000 to become Customer Support Director and then Operations Director. I re-joined the Sales Team in 2004 before becoming Business Development Manager responsible for many aspects of the business including Sales, Marketing, Product Management and was also person-in-charge-of-decent-coffee. In the Summer of 2012 it became time for a new challenge and I joined the team at Autoscript. So far so good!
Customer Values: Over the years I have always tried to listen to what customers are saying and determine what they are trying to say and what they aren’t saying but really want to say! It’s a fundamental skill and if you get it right everyone is happy. If you are not sure quite what a customer is saying in an email – pick up the phone or just go and see them.
Hobbies: Music (just about anything with a distorted guitar) – both live and recorded, the occasional pub visit, restaurants, cinema….the usual…….but mostly walks/spending time with my Wife and our Son.
