Greg Prentiss

Job role: Sales Director (North & South America)

Length of Service at Autoscript: April 2010

How have you progressed to your current position: I was acquainted with Autocript from my prior work at Anton/Bauer and had also done some consulting work for Autoscript.  I was asked to come and help out at NAB in 2010 to meet more of the Autoscript team and then invited to join.

Other employment: I joined Anton/Bauer in 1997, shortly after they were acquired by the Vitec Group, to manage their dealer sales channel.  During my time at Anton/Bauer, I held various sales and marketing roles, managing OEM relations and collaborative marketing efforts, marketing communications and Anton/Bauer’s custom product systems business. I also worked for JVC Professional Products as a district sales manager.  My career outside the broadcast and professional video industry included management consulting for manufacturing and service companies in the areas of marketing, recruitment, management systems and business process analysis.

Customer Values: My objective with each customer is to listen to their needs and understand their business application, what they are trying to accomplish.  Only then am I able to offer suitable solutions. Ultimately, my aim is improve the customer’s experience with both our products and our company.

Hobbies: Sailing and other marine activities, occasionally crewing in a regatta; politics, economics and history

Gary Cooper

Job Role:  Key Account Manager U.S. Sales

Length of Service:  October 2010

Other Employment:  I began my career as a news reporter and commercial voiceover artist before landing a management position at NBC TV.  After 3 years managing the production of various entertainment and sports shows, I transitioned into local and network news as a Managing Producer.  13 years later, I left NBC for the Pacific Northwest with a new challenge to build a brand new news department and program for the Fox affiliate in Spokane, Washington.  After hiring and building an entire news department in 3 short months…we launched a successful newscast that quickly established itself as a competitor, often beating the established competition in ratings and demographics.  The success in Spokane led me back east to rebuild a news department at the NBC affiliate in Johnstown Pennsylvania where I was nominated for an Emmy producing an hour long drug abuse special along with leading the media in coverage of Flight 93 on Sept 11 2001 and 77 hours of straight live coverage for rescue of the Cue Creek Miners…after 3 years in Pennsylvania I moved to Denver as an Executive Producer for KWGN TV before entering the sales world.

Customer Values:  I grew up with two family businesses where customers demanded nothing but the best.  One retail business my parents owned and a television production company that my in-laws owned.  Both taught me the value of hard work and being available 24/7.  Meeting the demands of your customers encompassed both of these traits and where essential to survival in the business world.  But the most important thing I learned from my experience; for success to happen, you have to be ready for change, accept it and manage it.

Hobbies:  Golf on rare occasions and daily walks with my dogs.
